SEEK HIM ~ SEE HIM ~ SAVOR HIM

I think when we flipped our calendars over from 2020 to 2021, we all anticipated things would get better. A new year will make it all go away; a blank slate will help us start over.

But as we’ve seen in these first two weeks of 21, our hopes of peace and healing globally and nationally haven’t played out as we thought.

Chaos ensues still on Capitol Hill and it seems our nation is at war within itself. It’s hard to know what to believe of what we hear. Covid cases and deaths are on the rise. The vaccine roll-out isn’t going as planned.

But none of this is a surprise to God. Neither is tomorrow or next week or next year. And He is faithful, His word is true no matter if it’s 2020, 2021 or 50 years from now.

He is unchanging. He is solid. He can be trusted with our tomorrow’s, year by year.

We mustn’t put so much hope in our circumstances, but we do. God’s grace certainly covers that weakness in us, but He does long for His children to look to Him and not dates, time, people, etc…for security, peace, hope and healing. He is the only place we will find rest for our souls.

We must take hold of Him and His Word to not be so shaken by current events. Day by day we can do this when we look to Him and not our swirling circumstances. With Him all things are possible!

I’ll end with verse 7 of the 21st chapter of psalms: “For the king trusts in the Lord. The unfailing love of the Most High will keep him from stumbling.”

A prayer-
Lord you are good and faithful. Forgive us for looking outside of you for the things only you can provide. Help us to trust you with today and tomorrow. Keep us from stumbling into pits of anxiety, despair and hopelessness when we see all going on around us. This world has never been Heaven and it never will be, help us to focus on the eternal not the temporary. In Jesus name we pray, Amen. ♥️

Why am I just seeing this now on the 15th week of the year? Oh well, the words are still true. The state of our nation seems to be deteriorating right before our eyes. But take heart, none of this is surprising to God & ultimately He is in control!

Hi! I actually wrote it in early Jan. and it was part of an Instagram writing challenge I participated in. I just posted it on the blog so I could have the writings all in the same place (my blog). So you didn’t miss anything! I probably should have re-worded it so there was no confusion.
Thanks for being a part of this community!

Thanks for clarifying. I know that the WordPress algorithm gets all wonky sometimes & hides posts from some of my favorite bloggers. 😀
