We were rushing around the other morning, forgotten backpacks, no masks, dog ran off with socks… typical morning mayhem. At least at our house.
Some days I take it in stride and am joyful and helpful. Other days I’m a fraction of that and am frustrated and yelling with the slightest inconvenience. The rush of possibly being late makes me crazy and I turn into “mean mom.”
Today, however, thanks to this @hopewriters writing challenge, I remembered the word, “SHINE.”
“Let your light shine, sarah.” I kept saying to myself.
Let the light of Christ shine in this chaotic moment and brighten me to be joy. Peace. Love. Sweetness. To have a kinder tone of voice. An encouraging voice in the morning routine.
The Bible tells us the darkness cannot overcome the light, but goodness, how I so easily extinguish the light of the fruits of the Spirit.
So thank you, hope*writers, for the reminder to shine today. For His glory, His love, His grace.
***Post three of seven of the hope*writers Instagram writing challenge I participated in earlier in the year. 😄
